I disappeared! Ok, so I didn’t, but last week was crazy! I had a project due, another in jeporady of not getting off the floor, and a very tired management staff at the Daily.
The silver lining … I think I hooked the game store account and talked to the vegetarian restaurant and got an appointment (Yay!). Thank goodness my bf is all into gaming in all forms or I would have been totally out of my element. Of course a lot of that revolved around Halo 3 and Pokemon, the trading game … but the heck, its still gaming. As for the vege place … hmm well, they seem really nice and I hope I can hook them in too.
But right now it’s my birthday and I’m tired and I don’t want to write any more. So I’m out internet peoples.

Happy Birthday! Enjoy and may God bless it!
I had a very interesting day. I think you’d appreciate the impact I felt.
I started a little ad agency in Idaho Falls (www.Growthinc.biz). In a previous comment, I mentioned that I’m trying to get back into radio. Well, someone at local radio group called me last week. I didn’t get his name down clearly, but we made an appointment for today. He said he was getting together with local agencies to get to know us. Probably one of their Account Execs looking to get me to throw some business their way.
Two days ago, i saw they had an opening for an on-air talent. Part-time, but, hey, its a foot in the door, right?
Today, I went armed with my resume and demo disc. These I gave to the gal at the front desk while I asked if “Phil” was in. Turns out “Phil” is the local cluster General Manager! While we were talking, “Jay” walks in, pulls up a chair and joins the conversation. “Jay” is the VP of the entire company! We swapped radio stories for several minutes (I did 15 years in Eastern Washington).
I mentioned to the GM that I was also applying for the on-air position. So what does he do? He leaves and returns with the Program Director.
Talk about making an impression! Here’s hoping these fortuious meetings turn into an air shift….
Keep getting those appointments. Ad sales is really a numbers game. The more faces you can meet and talk to, the accounts you’ll get.
